MY STORY

Why I teach English.

I kept meeting students who knew a lot of English on paper but still felt nervous when they had to use it in real life. They knew the grammar, remembered the vocabulary, and could often understand more than they could comfortably say.

That made me rethink what a useful English lesson should feel like. I wanted students to spend less time worrying about perfect sentences and more time actually speaking, listening, trying, making mistakes, and trying again.

That’s still how I teach today: practical English, clear feedback, and plenty of chances to use what you learn in situations that matter to you.

You don’t need perfect English to start using it.

HOW I TEACH

How I help you improve your English

That idea shapes every lesson I teach. We start with where you are, focus on what you actually need, and give you plenty of time to use English and improve.

HOW I TEACH
Clear lessons. Plenty of practice.
Start from where you are
You don’t need to prepare before your first lesson. We start with your current English and build from there.
Spend more time using English
You get regular opportunities to speak, listen, respond, and try new language instead of only listening to explanations.
Learn what you actually need
We focus on situations that matter to you — everyday conversations, work, travel, study, or exam preparation.
Get clear feedback
I correct the mistakes that matter, show you clearer ways to express yourself, and explain what to work on next.
Know what comes next
Lessons follow a clear plan, so each one builds on what you’ve already practiced and moves you toward your next goal.

I needed English mainly for work meetings. We practiced situations that actually happen in my job, so the lessons always felt useful and relevant.

I like that the lessons are practical. We don’t spend the whole class studying grammar rules — we use English and Jave explains the grammar when it becomes useful.

I’m older than most English students I know, so I was worried about starting again. The lessons are relaxed, easy to follow, and I never feel rushed.

Student Feedback

See feedback from students after completing a course or level with Jave.

A smiling man waving during a video call at his laptop.

I can finally speak in meetings without preparing every sentence first.

Before this course, I usually prepared what I wanted to say before every meeting and avoided speaking unless I had to. After 12 weeks, I can give project updates, answer follow-up questions, and explain my ideas much more naturally. I still make mistakes, but I don’t freeze when someone asks me something unexpectedly anymore.

Lucas Ferreira

English for Work · Intermediate

A girl smiling during an online lesson at a laptop.

She’s started using English on her own instead of waiting for me to ask.

Mia could understand simple English before the course, but she rarely wanted to speak. Now she answers in longer sentences, uses new words by herself, and sometimes speaks English with her cousin during video calls. The biggest difference is that she’s much less worried about making mistakes.

Emma Park

Parent of Mia, age 10

A smiling woman looking toward the camera at home.

I don’t need to translate everything in my head before I answer anymore.

Before the course, I could understand a lot of English, but speaking was slow because I was always translating first. After finishing Level 3, I can answer more naturally and keep conversations going for much longer. I still stop sometimes to find the right word, but speaking feels much less stressful now.

Yuki Tanaka

Everyday Conversation · Upper Intermediate

A woman wearing headphones during a laptop video call.

I stopped memorizing answers and finally learned how to build my own responses.

Before the course, I relied too much on memorized ideas and my answers often sounded unnatural. We worked on structure, vocabulary, pronunciation, and speaking under time pressure. After the course, I felt much more confident answering unfamiliar questions and my Speaking score improved from 5.5 to 6.5.

Mai Nguyen

IELTS Preparation · Band 5.5 → 6.5

An older couple attending a group video call from their living room.

For the first time, I handled an entire trip without using a translation app for every conversation.

I joined because I was nervous about using English while traveling alone. We practiced airports, hotels, restaurants, transport, and asking for help. During my trip, I could deal with most situations by myself and only used translation a few times when I really needed it.

OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM

A little about me.

When I’m not teaching, I’m usually exploring Dublin, finding a good café, or planning my next trip. I enjoy slowing down, discovering new places, and noticing the little differences in how people communicate.
